The Loyal Subjects X The Transformers

This is an odd purchase for me, I usually don't go for off-the-wall stuff like this, but I was in a local bookstore the other day and these happened to catch my eye. And because I'm such a G1 nerd I couldn't help but purchase one.

Vinyl toys have become all the rage in America lately, I'm not really sure why. But thanks to companies like Dunny and the hugely popular Disney Vinylmation, licenses for things like Transformers were sure to follow. These are blind-packed (of course) with a 1/8 chance of getting Optimus, Bumblebee, Grimlock, Jazz, Megatron, Starscream, Skywarp or Soundwave. And of course there are three chase figures, a dark Megatron, dark Bumblebee and gold and black Jazz. Woohoo.

Giant yellow head.

Of course I got Bumblebee, probably the one I wanted the least, lol. But surprisingly, he came with not only a weapon, but a tech spec as well! I love tech specs! The tech spec is just the G1 spec reproduced, but it was a nice extra.

These are very reminiscent of the MyClone figures released in Japan in the early 2000's. Will I be buying anymore? Probably not. I might search out the Starscream and just purchase him rather than trying to find him in the blind boxes. The chase figures aren't anything that I care about so I won't be trying to complete this collection anytime in the future :)

  1. I got my first Loyal Subject figure in last month's Loot Crate, but mind was from Series 2. Ended up w/ Slag. Pretty cool and all, but like you I can't see myself buying anymore of these save maybe Thundercracker.

    1. Yeah I'm just not that big into the Vinyl toy scene.
