Since this is the case I've decided that I need to refocus the purpose of this blog back to what I originally intended. Not that I have strayed far, but this blog should be a reflection of my collection and how it relates to my life. Suffice it to say there will probably be less posts than in the past but hopefully they will be more substantive, rather than just an attempt to post every couple of days.
So for this re-inaugural post I would like to highlight a favorite of mine: Hardhead. Hardhead was the first (and only first gen) Headmaster I owned as a child. I probably found his tank mode fun and intimidating, much more so than Chromedome, Brainstorm or Highbrow. Nevertheless I developed an attachment to him and he still graces my collection cabinet today. A few (more like six or seven) months ago I was able to find a very mint sample that I could not pass up. I need to get this thing under acrylic but for now he looks beautiful on my shelf and I've been wanting to share these pictures, I just haven't had time.
And just for fun, how about a shot with my childhood Hardhead, in essence coming full circle...
Ahh, G1 you are my muse.
How is your childhood Hardhead so freaking pristine? It looks practically new! Still, that boxed version is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAh but what you can't see in the picture is one of Duros's arms is completely missing :)
DeleteWow, he still looks awesome. A lot of the G1 guys don't..um...age well I guess. Hardhead looks great! Now the question is, are you going to pop for that third part beast of a Hardhead when the time comes? (budget constraints pending of course..)
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you're back, I've been checking your site every day! Stick with what works, but I for one, think we need MORE G1 dedicated/focused sites!
Ask and you shall receive. And yes, I will definitely be picking up the third party Hardhead in the future, whichever one looks better :)
DeleteMine Hardhead challenges yours... http://heroicdecepticon.blogspot.hk/2009/10/transformers-series-4-headmaster.html
ReplyDelete... and loses due to a slight flap crease!
I'm picking up the third party Hardhead too, heard its coming this week!
I don't know about that, mine still has a massive bend in the corner that is pretty visible from the back. I'd call it at a tie :)
