D-108 Slugfest and D-109 Overkill

Ohhhh baby. I have been waiting quite a while for these two gems. These guys can be impossibly hard to find and I'm not really sure why. As far as I can tell they got a relatively wide release during the Headmasters toyline in Japan but for some reason are really obscure. Regardless, they now have a permanent spot in my collection. And fortunately I was able to get them in excellent condition. Slugfest is still MISB while Overkill is MIB, but all his paperwork and weapons are still sealed. I could send these guys off to AFA if I wanted, but I think I would rather keep them out. I doubt I will ever unseal them, but you never know.

You may ask yourself, why would I want these two particular figures? They are identical to their American releases and don't really have any differences to them. I'll show you why:

That's right! These are the last two Japanese Dinocassettes! Even though they don't combine, they fit in perfectly with the other four. Ever since I acquired the Autobot Dinocassettes I have been searching for these two and honestly they were a lot harder to find! I love how the box designs are almost identical for all six and they look so good together. And one of the best parts about it is these figures were never KO'd and I doubt they ever will be due to their abundance in different forms. I mean I could go out and buy a Slugfest and Overkill for $10 if I wanted to, but they are insanely difficult to find in this condition. Sometimes it isn't about the figure at all, but how it is presented.

So now they find themselves perched upon my display shelves, alongside all the other boxed Japanese figures. Soon I would like to display them in a slightly better fashion with their Autobot brethren. But they sure look good together.
