I had the good fortune to be able to pick up the brand new Pet Shop/Brownstone Lego Modular building yesterday. I haven't had a chance to build it yet, I just wanted to throw out some teaser pics. I'll do an update when the whole thing is complete.
It's in huge demand. And I'll probably have to wait a few days for you to get this completed, won't I? It usually takes me about 4 hours or so to get these built.
Actually the modular buildings I can usually do in the same amount of time, around 4-5 hours. Of course they are a lot easier because they actually have instructions and all the parts are ready for you. This was not the case on the WTC and Sears Tower. Neither of those had instructions and I had to figure out the parts as I went since they aren't official Lego sets. Not to mention each of them has more parts than the largest Lego set produced to date (5,922 pieces in the Taj Mahal). The Sears Tower had around 7,000 parts and the WTC had over 19,000 so it takes a lot longer than a normal Lego set.
I just saw that last night in an e-mail from Lego. You didn't waste any time!
ReplyDeleteNo kidding, by the time I got to the Lego store the clerk told me they had already sold seven sets! And I got there in the morning!
